Loneliness is a painful emotional state of disconnection from others. This painful emotional experience we all try to avoid at all costs still find its way into our lives despite our effort to prevent it. Because it is God's will for us to be in fellowship and communication with others, we feel anxious when we are facing this circumstance. Loneliness has no prejudice; it afflicts mankind indiscriminately.
Note that solitude is different from loneliness. Solitude is a choice to be alone to refresh while loneliness is separation anxiety from others. Being with people does not mean you can not be lonely because you can be with someone and be disconnected from them, e.g., couples in some marriages. This emotional state hurts many people to the extent that they start to engage in negativity. In the bid to escape this situation, some have died by suicide.
Loneliness is a painful emotional state of disconnect that hurts us greatly. Everyone needs friends, we thrive in healthy solid relationships. If you are in this situation, I want you to know that you are not alone. God's promise is that He will be with you always (Deut. 31:8; Mt. 28:20). Stop there. Do not commit suicide. Stop engaging in compromising relationships in order not to be alone. Look up to Him today and share your hearts with Him. He is always a prayer away from you and only He knows how to fill that void!
Read Isaiah 41 for comfort.
It's well....really blessed.
