THE HARDEST THING TO SAY

The Bible encourages us to be appreciative in whatever circumstances we find ourselves in. It says, and I quote, "In all things, give thanks'. This is an instruction to forget whatever might be bothering us and do God's will first. While this may be hard for us, I think obedience is key.

When we find ourselves in unpalatable situations, our thoughts must always be with God. After all, He knows it all. He understands what we will never comprehend, and He is saying we are to 'thank Him' for that situation. Because we don't understand everything, common sense dictates that we do as He wishes.

There are lots of things we will not understand now. Those bad situations might be working in our favour but because of the present distress, we may not feel thankful, but if we are able to obey God and do His will, it will become clearer to us why things are the way they are. It may be hard to thank Him for everything, but it is very good to thank Him "in" everything.

  1. Praise God, Hallelujah. I have set a daily reminder that will help me remember to thank God for five things for each day.
