Harvest is a season when we expect to reap what has been sown. Farmers understand this period. When they put the first seed into the ground, in their minds eyes, they were already envisaging a bountiful harvest. This is good and commendable.
On the other hand, some of us have unwittingly planted lots of evil seeds that are now sprouting unexpected pain and problems. What we did yesterday, thinking there were no repercussions, is finally giving birth to misery. When we thought we had the world in our pockets, we opened up some cankerworms that are now polluting everywhere. David is a classical example. His debacle with Uriah's wife is an unintentional harvest. When we unwittingly sow evil seed, what are we to do?
Cry out to God in prayer. Every one of us has unknowingly planted some things in the past that are causing us trouble today. It may be that you have married the wrong person. Engaged in wrong dealings. Partner with bad people. Whatever it is, there is hope. The times of our ignorance God has winked at. Humbly ask for His forgiveness and watch Him reorder your life. It may take a while, but it will be done!
