An ex con was asked a profound question, "how can one survive torture?" Without missing a beat he answered, "the torture must first stop". That is the basic truth. For anyone to survive any form of torture, the torturer must stop at a point. If the torture continues, survival is not guaranteed. If anyone is subjected to any form of prolonged torture, they will not make it.
Sin is a relentless torturer. It has no regard for your cries, pain, and anything whatsoever. It is only interested in one thing and that is to ensure that you don't survive. Sin has been torturing mankind since Eden and till date, it is not tired. Many have tried to break free but have failed because of the power backing sin. The devil is the force behind sin and it has one mission, steal, kill, and destroy (Joh. 10:10a).
If you want to survive the torture of sin, if you desire to break free from its grip, there is only one Person with the authority and power to uproot sin from source and that is Jesus. If you want the torture of sin to stop in your life so that you can fulfil your God's ordained purpose, come to Jesus. Nothing else will suffice.
