The advent of social media has birthed a new breed of leaders called social Media Influencers. Most of these influencers, particularly, have no 'content, so to speak, when it comes to influencing people positively, yet they make use of their office, whatever it is, to build a strong following.
As Believers in Christ, we have been called to be influencers on earth. We are referred to as light and salt. These two properties bring noticeable changes to whatever they make contact with, but unlike most Social Media Influencers, their influence yields good outcomes. Influencing others positively is an assignment entrusted to us by God.
While we do not necessarily need a Social Media Following to influence, we must endeavour to motivate positively at whatever level or capacity we can manage. That is why we must model our lives after Christ if we desire to lead others to Him. It is a tall order, but it is very important. The children of the world are influencing for their 'master. Try and influence for your Master, Jesus Christ.
