PATIENTLY ENDURE

It was C. S. Lewis who quipped that he didn't venture into Christianity to make himself happy. According to him, 'a bottle of port would do that'. He further asserted that if one wants a religion that will make one really comfortable, he will not recommend Christianity.  This is not an attempt at discouragement but that of preparedness. Christ has not called us to a lethargic, torpid, and languid religion but that of active participation.

Looking through the Bible as Bible Students, what we will discover is that everyone called by God must carry a cross. There is a burden, responsibility that we are called to carry out and most of the time it is not always easy to carry and that is where endurance comes in. I don't know the nature of cross that God has called you to carry but I know that it is a doable endeavour.

God is too faithful to give you a responsibility you are not equipped to fulfill. What you need is to lean fully on Him as it is in Him that you will draw strength to persevere. The end is always the goal with Goal not midway. You must finish your course in order to win the crown. This is a charge for you today if you are weary; lean on HIM. Let Him Help you. Don't give up. Don't give in. Endure hardness like a soldier of Christ.
