As believers, we are enjoined to regard everything about this world as temporary. There is no permanence to anything in this world. From the day we were born until the day we draw our last breath, our innate clock is ticking and racing towards the finish line. That is, it is important to live our lives with something permanent in mind.
Just as everything in this present world is pointing towards an end, that end is not an end in itself but another beginning. When we finish our assignment here on earth, based on how we spent our time on earth, we will transition to either heaven or hell, and that is a permanent thing.
That is why we are being warned not to get attached to anything in this world because they will all be left behind. We are also to live our lives with eternity in mind. Choosing hell is never an option. Work very hard so you can receive the Crown of Life. Run a purposeful race on earth, jettison all unnecessary baggage, and focus on a greater treasure.
