BUT IF NOT...

One of the scariest statements in the Bible is strategically located in the Book of Daniel. The story is of three young men who were willing to defend their faith in God to the death. Everyone's desire is for God to answer their prayers, but if you have been a Christian long enough, you will notice that not all prayers get the desired result.

These young men are giving us the opportunity to check our motives for serving God. Are we serving Him because of Him or for ourselves? These boys were in a situation of life and death, and they were convinced that even if God did not do what they wanted, they would still do His will because it was all about Him.

Is it all about God in your life? Are you living for Him or for yourself? What if He does not answer your prayers? Will you still be following Him? What if you need to face trying times—will you bow to pressure or do His will? When it's all said and done, it will not be about you but about His will whatever that is. For instance, God rescued the 3 Hebrews faithfuls, but He did not rescue Paul from Nero. He does His things His way. All we need to do is trust and obey.

Read the book of Daniel 3 for more.
