SELF DISCIPLINE: NOT PROCRASTINATING

When growing up, we were learnt the saying (Tick says the clock) with an iconic ending: '...what you have to do, do quick'. Time is our most precious resource and it is unfortunate that many do not take that into consideration. They push what they ought to do now to another day. Such habit is an act of gross indiscipline. Self-discipline teaches you to be on the lookout for opportunities.

Opportunities are fickle things. They are like quicksilver; you need to be fast to catch up with them. If you do not seize a presented opportunity, you might end up pursuing it for the rest of your life. We also learnt that once an opportunity is lost, it might not be regained. Yes, you might gain it back but the odds are against you.

That is why it is better for you to strike while the iron is hot. Do not wait for the circumstances to be right before you act. When God brings opportunity your way, do not sit on it. Act fast. Tomorrow may be too late. Whatever you need to do, receive the strength to do it now. Acting at the right time is one of the best things you can do with your time. After all, procrastination is a thief of time.
