This is because they erroneously think it is wealth they are seeking and they spend their years searching for it and when they eventually find it, they discover that it is not filling the void in their hearts. Some think it is marriage. Some children. Some certificates. Some material possessions. Some travels but at the end of it all, these things end up not being what they are seeking and the void remains.
What then are we looking for? The simple truth is that God has placed individually His purpose in our spirit men and it is the fulfilment of this purpose that we seek. Failure to find it will steal our peace thus replacing it with the pursuit of the mundane. Stop the rat race, find your purpose in life and God's peace rooted in fulfilment will be yours.
