There is no need to ask if you have ever seen a pencil that has not been sharpened or not; I will assume you have. The outstanding quality of such an unsharpened pencil is that it has "no point." A sharpened pencil has "a point" in that it has become useful by virtue of a change in circumstances.
As humans, we are all like unsharpened pencils. Our lives will have "no point" until we take them back to our Maker for sharpening. Until our lives are sharpened, their purpose will remain untapped. We remain useless as long as we have no point, and we can only have points if we are with God.
It is often said that we are like pencils in the hand of the Creator. That is a truism. In His hands, we are guaranteed a good sharpening and a continual sharpening because good usage will necessitate resharpening. If you desire to have a point in life, give your pencil (yourself) back to God!
