A poppy is a kind of flower that is grown in some places. How it found itself in folklore is the inconvenience attached to its growth. The poppy flower grows disproportionately in relation to others but unfortunately, the vine dresser deems this to be unacceptable. For the reason best known to them, they feel all the poppy flowers must grow and reach the same height and at the same time, most likely for aesthetic reasons.
For this to happen, the unfortunate poppy flowers that grow taller than the others are cut down. We humans too have the propensity to knock down people we feel are better than we are. When you see someone excelling in his God-given abilities and try to short-change them, it is wrong.
Every one of us has been called to shine in our various capacities. There is no need to pull anyone down. If someone is better at something than you, it is okay. You are also better at something than someone else. Let us encourage ourselves and not pull ourselves down. Things work out well when we operate in our individual places of strength.
