Have you ever been in a situation where you were asked to do something profoundly unreasonable? You know, like when someone tells you to do something ridiculous and you decline because of the absurdity of the situation? Well, I must have at some point, but Peter knew better.
It is one thing for a friend or family member to tell you to do the absurd, and it is another for God to ask the same. Jesus told Peter to drop his net for a catch at an unreasonable time in the fishing business, and at first he wanted to decline, but he chose to risk faith by quickly saying, "But because you said so".
What is God leading you to do that seems unreasonable? What is His Spirit impressing on your mind to work on that does not seem like a good idea? Imagine Noah being asked to build a water-proof boat when no one had ever witnessed rain. Let me advise you: if it is God leading you, please do it quickly. Take His Word for it and leave the consequences to Him. God has been known to send us on ridiculous errands, but in all of them, all He desires is for us to trust Him and His Word.
