We have often heard of the phrase Finish The Race. What does it mean to you? Does it really matter if you do not finish? Let us hear from someone who has been there. The year was 1968, the man was John Akwari of Tanzania, and the event was the Olympics. In running their lap, he and many others fell, and he was badly wounded.
Medical personnel called out for him to get out of the race for medical assistance, but he refused and rejoined the race. At the end, he got to the finish line. When asked the motivation behind that action, he declared that his country had sent him 5,000 miles to finish a race, not quit before getting there.
Friend, God has also placed you and me here to finish our race. Like John, we might be hurting, but let us, by His grace, keep running. Circumstances are challenging, yes, but let us not lose focus on the FINISH LINE, that is the most important part of it. God is waiting for us at the finish line. Quitting helps no one...
