When we were little, we played with watercolors and were taught the beauty of mixing colours to create new colours. One of the most profound creations is the colour green, which is gotten by mixing yellow and blue. While the period was enjoyable, we got to learn one of the fast rules of life: when you mix these colours, you get that result.
Fast forward to adulthood, where we continued our lessons, although on a different spectrum, and learned that if you do this and this, you will get that. One of these is that if you obey God and follow His commandments, you will attract His blessings, while doing otherwise will attract chaos. But wait, why do things seem to be reversed? The obedient suffer, while the wicked seem to enjoy.
What happened? Has someone changed the settings without informing us? Jeremiah understood this perfectly, and we must learn from him. When God gave Him a message for the sinning Jews, the prophecy tarried, and He was greatly mocked, tortured, and imprisoned while the evil people thrived. Instead of giving up on God, he persisted in his prayers until God proved His Word. When things seem different from God's promises to you now, be steadfastly minded like Ruth, keep praying, and before long, God will prove His Words yet again.
