A family set out on a picnic for a little family time. It was an enjoyable time for everyone until their little boy, chasing a colourful butterfly, wandered away from his family before anyone noticed his absence had gotten lost. It took a massive search party to restore him to his family.
Many of us (Christians) are like that little boy, while we love the company of our families (The Church), there are always things that will catch our fancy and subtly draw us away from the Body of Christ. Before we know what is happening, we are out of His protection. As Christians, we have the responsibility of vigilance.
Jesus taught us to WATCH and PRAY. Our prayers become more proactive when we are watchful. Praying and not watching will not allow us to see the enemy of our soul (the devil) drawing us away subtly. Some have been drawn away by ungodly relationships, goodies of the world, etc. Everything we need is in Him. Don't wander away chasing what you don't need. Avoid that trap!
Read Matthew 26 for clarity.
