This habit has subconsciously been adopted by human beings. We devote most of our time majoring in minors while depleting major things. The devil has so perfected this scheme that he 'blessed' us with jobs that will help us to run around doing nothing profitable spiritually. He keeps us busy so we will not have time for God.
The baffling thing is when this is pointed out by well-meaning individuals, we jump at them asking if we will not eat. Well, any food that will keep you away from God must be left uneaten. When it's all being said and done, it is your relationship with God that will matter not how good you are at your job. Martha and Mary are good examples, be ye wiser than the devil!
