Earlier, we explained that true worship goes beyond singing praise and worship and includes dancing and making merry before the Lord. While all these things are good, they are only a fraction of what true worship truly is. In its deepest sense, true worship is a total surrender to the will of God, even in the face of absurdity.
We have heard that Abraham surrendered to leaving the known world without knowing where. Joseph surrendered to injustice without knowing why. Job patiently waited for deliverance without knowing when. Mary eagerly anticipated God's miracle without knowing how. All these people surrendered their all to God.
In that sense, they were the true worshippers. That is why they were honored as heroes of faith. You and I have a template upon which we can build our faith. If these ones could surrender blindly to God's will, we have no excuse not to follow suit. Surrendering all to God makes life even easier and better in the end. Today, make a declaration: I surrender!
