If you have ever seen the animated film The Lion King, I guess you will appreciate fatherhood. In that film, we saw an exuberant cub wandering into dangerous territories and becoming troubled when trouble came. Unbeknownst to him and his friend, his father was not far away, and when it seemed all hope was lost, his father saved the day.
Does that story seem familiar? I bet it does because many are the times when you and I leave safe territories to wander, for fun's sake, in the enemy territories. Leaving the presence of God to frolic with sin has a huge consequence, but thank God for His mercy that endures forever. When we fall into sin due to our exuberance, we must first realize that there is a big price to pay.
Although the father eventually rescued his son, he first allowed him to experience firsthand the consequences of disobedience. Maybe what you are passing through now is the consequence of your disobedience; do not despair. We have an advocate in Christ Jesus, who will plead our cause before our Father. Call Him today... Cry out for help. Do not be ashamed. Do not be proud. God's specialty is rescuing His recalcitrant children.
