There are times when the pressures of life force one to take some desperate steps. While we know that those steps may not hold, we console ourselves with that faulty age-old maxim: desperate times call for desperate measures. Following that saying, we jump into error. Well, true believers don't panic during desperate times. They relax because that is when their God shows off.
When you try to contain desperate times on your own, you will run afoul of God's plan. His plan is not for us to help ourselves. His plan is for our helplessness to call upon Him. The Israelites learned this the hard way when, in their desperation, they tried everything they could to protect themselves from invaders. You would think they should be wiser after experiencing God's help time and time again.
Unfortunately for them, they forgot God and relied on their own strength and wisdom. To what end? God brought it to naught. Challenges may try to scare us into taking some actions, but take the time to seek God first. No challenge should force you to act outside of God. He remains a very present help in times of need!
