There is a religious trend that has been making waves for a long time and has successfully led many to be awaiting hell. Some, not knowing better, have bought into the idea and are ignorantly justifying their position. This trend is GOOD WORKS. The mindset of these folks is that as long as they are good, do good, and just be "good", (whatever good is to them), they will be right with God.
While God wants us to be good, Jesus has made it known that it is practically impossible for anyone to be good without the help of God in this world. If we want to be good," we must listen to God, and God is saying, Go to JESUS. Cornelius in the Bible checked all the 'good works' boxes according to human standards, but in God's view, He still has a step to go.
When God revealed the next step to him, he willingly and gladly embraced it by accepting Peter and his teachings concerning the grace of salvation through Christ. Self-effort is a lie; focusing on it will not do you any good. You need a power outside of yourself to accomplish anything good. That power is only accessible through Christ Jesus. Your efforts cannot save you. The way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. Come to Him today!
