If there is one thing that God takes great delight in when it comes to men, it is obedience. Yes, as simple as that world is, it is responsible for the rise and fall of nations. Men have found themselves fulfilling great destinies because they obeyed God, and on the flip side, many are in the slums because they chose not to obey.
Choice as it pertains to obedience has no alternative with God; either you are willing to choose to obey Him or not. There are some people in the world today who earned God's favour through obedience. The funny part is that it was not God's instruction that held them, but that of man. The Recabites in the Book of Jeremiah earned a gold piece because they willingly obeyed their forebears.
In comparison, the supposed people of God are struggling desperately to obey His least instruction. We often wonder why things are the way they are in our lives without giving consideration to our obedience level. Your walk with God is not by force. He will not force you to do anything, but if you choose the wrong thing, well, you get the short stick. God still honours obedient people. Obedience can never be overrated!
