Yes, leadership is an act of self discipline. Every leader has been called to the task of disciplining themselves in various ways in order to assist their followers. Leading is not easy,; being called to be a leader is the hardest job there is.

If you find yourself in this position, do not despair. He who has called you will surely do it. He will equip you with everything you need to succeed but you must know how to put them to good use but this is where many leaders fail. They have not been called so they have not been equipped. With no equipment, they are unprepared.

Failure to adequately prepare yourself for your leadership role is the highest form of indiscipline. If you know that you are not capable of a certain capacity, there is no shame in declining. It will be better for you to acknowledge your shortcomings that to set yourself up for a lifetime of disgrace.
