One of Abraham's character traits that endears him to God is his relationship with God, which does not end with him but spills over to everyone around him. God Himself boasts of Abraham's evangelistic prowess (Gen. 18:19). His knowledge of God did not end with himself; he ensured that everyone around him had a taste of God.
In the New Testament, Jesus encouraged the disciples to go and tell everyone they could about Him (Acts 1:8). Today, if you are a believer, you owe the opportunity to those daring souls who, in the face of ridicule and persecution, ensured that they obeyed Jesus. When you love someone, you will do anything for them.
God doesn't expect much from us, but one of the things He desires strongly that we do is evangelize. When we tell others about His faithfulness, it endears us to Him. In fact, the quickest way to become a friend of God is to go about and tell as many people as possible about how wonderful He is. Would you not love to be God's friend?
