The 23rd Chapter in the Book of Psalms always serves as a refresher and a confidence booster in times of crisis. As it is written in the Book of Job, "man is born unto trouble" (14/1). No matter where we are in this world, there is bound to be trouble because of the event in Revelation 12.
Now that it is established that we cannot escape problems in this world, what are our options? What is our hope? Are we to just fold our hands or leave them hanging in helplessness? NO! God has not left us without a means of escape. He knows how awful this world is, and He has made arrangements for our survival.
Survival is so basic that most people disregard it. Living amidst complexities has conditioned us to think in those terms, but God's ways are so straight-forward that even a child can benefit from them. The only way to survive the problems of this world is to simply make God your Shepherd. Jesus claims to be the Good Shepherd who will protect the herd with His life. Make God your Shepherd and rest easy.
