HARD BUT REASONABLE

One of the hardest things anyone can ever tell someone else to do is to praise through pain. I guarantee you that it is an all-around pain for everyone involved. The adviser would feel a certain level of pain for suggesting it, and the one being advised too would not feel the need to praise. How does one tell someone who is enduring an agonizing situation to be praising God?

Practically, it may seem impossible, but if this is you, find strength to do so. Choosing to praise in pain is one way of surrendering. You are surrendering the situation to the only One capable of helping you. We must find a way to reprogram our being to be on praise default. Praise should not just be about good times.

The Bible encourages us to give thanks in all things. Circumstances must not choose our praise; we must choose to praise God regardless of the circumstances because that is a reasonable service to Him. While it may be hard, it is the best decision. Choosing to praise in pain is an advanced level of spiritual maturity that every serious believer must contend for. Ask the Holy Spirit for help.
